Umesh Khaitan is the managing partner of Khaitan & Khaitan. He has four decades of legal experience dealing with all aspects of civil litigation and also has excellent credentials and reputation in the practice of corporate law. He was admitted to the Bar in 1972, and earned his Solicitor's degree in the same year. His prominent clients include major players in the hospitality, banking and finance, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, breweries, leading hoteliers, infrastructure development corporations and banks and financial institutions. He has advised various clients on their group structuring, raising structured finance, family settlements and succession planning, mergers and acquisition and complex corporate settlement matters.
In addition to his vast legal practice, Mr. Khaitan has been entrusted with the directorship of many large companies and also with the Trusteeship of a few select organizations such as the Mamta Health Foundation. Mr. Khaitan is also involved in various charitable projects such as developing of schools for girls in rural areas.
